Finally, the graphics are a lot better than the first it's a fairly beautiful game and it does add a little bit to the enjoyment of it. I also thought the boss fights in 1, although few and far between (the same problem in 2) were better overall. Gameplay wise, you have better melee, better powers (I did find myself missing a few of them from one such as healing while grinding for one) that even have a new extra layer depending on your decisions (you can imbue them with fire or ice). I personally enjoyed the story and setting of 1 more (although most people hate the bleak and uninspired Empire City), but most people feel that the setting itself of 2 (in a New Orleans clone) was a lot more diverse and fun to goof around in.

While I enjoyed the first one in a lot more ways, I think it can indeed suffer from repetitiveness, however 2 improves on many things. Some sandbox games however are big enough that you don't notice it as much. I feel Infamous suffers from a problem that all sandbox games do: repetitiveness.
